We are a group of friends and neighbours living in the Gatineau hills of western Québec, the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg peoples. We have gathered every Friday since January 4, 2024, to express our grief, outrage, and solidarity in the face of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
We stand for justice, peace, and our shared humanity. We reject all forms of discrimination, antisemitism, Islamophobia and militarism. We believe that true peace requires not only an immediate ceasefire and succour for the suffering, but an end to Israeli apartheid and occupation.
With people around the world, we are calling for a full embargo on arms sales to Israel and urgent humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people: food, clean water, shelter, trauma care and medical support.

If you are not able to join the vigil, there are many other ways to be part of this work. We organize community events as opportunities for shared learning and action. We place hope in the power and beauty of embodied solidarity — love on the street — and in the power of collective efforts to learn, grieve and act together in our own names, and for the sake of our own humanity.
