The Virginia Tull Fine Arts Series is proud to present the first concert of our 2025-2026 season on Saturday, September 27, 2025, 7:00PM: Gee-Mackey Duo: David Gee, cello and Lynne Mackey, piano. This concert will be held in the Sanctuary at Wake Forest Baptist Church, 107 E. South Avenue, Wake Forest, www.wakeforestbaptistchurch.org.
The Gee-Mackey Duo has performed in the United States, Europe and Africa. The Duo’s activities include recitals, premieres of new works by American composers, fund-raising concerts, master classes and workshops. Cellist David Gee has performed as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral cellist in America, Europe and Africa. Pianist Lynne Mackey is an active performer of solo, chamber and concerto works.
Career highlights include performances at Weill Recital Hall in New York City, the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, and in Brazil, Spain, Morocco and the Netherlands. She currently teaches at Mary Baldwin University. Ms. Mackey performed a solo piano concert in the 2023-24 season of the Virginia Tull Fine Arts Series and we are delighted to have her return with Mr. Gee. They will be performing works by Beethoven, Cassadó, Boulanger and Mendelssohn. See a sampling of their playing here:
