Join us for a relaxing and inspiring four-hour plein air painting class designed for artists looking to paint from life outdoors. This session offers hands-on instruction in the fundamentals of painting from life, including composition, color mixing, and capturing light and atmosphere. Participants will learn how to set up their materials, choose a compelling subject, and bring a landscape to life on canvas, all while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Following a 1-hour introduction on key concepts, outdoor etiquette, safety, materials, equipment, and sight selection, the class will relocate to an outdoor location to begin your guided painting process. An on-site demo will be conducted by the instructor. Whether you’re a beginner painter or an experienced artist looking to refresh your skills, this class provides a supportive environment to explore your outdoor creativity. Leave with a finished piece, new techniques, and a renewed connection to nature.
All medium is permitted; oil, acrylic, soft pastel, and watercolor. However, please note that my demo and teaching perspective will be in oils/acrylic. Some painting or drawing experience required.
A materials list will be provided after you register for the class.
If you do not have a plein air easel or any lightweight easel, please contact the instructor, Linda Hauser, directly
