Weave a konae - 2 cornered basket, (looks like a kete - bag/basket), using harakeke and traditional Māori weaving techniques.
Option to weave a kono - 4 cornered basket.
I have been teaching weaving since 2017 at KareNZ Kitz Weaving Studio and Art Gallery beside the river in Waitara Taranaki.
In between KareNZ Kitz and the river is a park/playground, walkway (30 mins to the beach) with Art installations and a carving studio next door run by Artists and teachers Rangi Bailey (rakau-wood) and Morgan Watson (pounamu - greenstone).
$60 per konae/kono
Recommended for ages 8 and over. Younger children might like to weave one with and adult.
All children must come with an adult.
