Join our piupiu group and learn traditional weaving techniques to create piupiu, kakahu, korowai, pake, maro, hieke using muka harakeke. Learn how to select the right harakeke. Learn the names of local muka harakeke and Rene Orchiston collection.
We meet for 4 x 2 day weekend workshops every year to practice and learn whatu, miro and taniko.
The next piupiu wānanga in 2026 will be in June, September and December.
$200 per person Pay once to join the piupiu club and come to as many piupiu wānanga as you like.
Price includes Pot for boiling (harakeke only), haehae - measuring tool, fish bin, tongs.
