Join us for a special gathering of story, wisdom, and readings as Dr. Makaʻala Yates honors the lives and teachings of his three extraordinary teachers in the launch of his new book, Nā Wahine Kahuna ‘Ekolu: Three Women Masters of Old Hawai’i.
Aunty Margaret Machado, ‘Iolani Luahine, and Morrnah Simeona are three revered kahuna who profoundly shaped Maka'ala as a member of the first crew of the Hōkūleʻa in 1976 and throughout his decades of practice as a Native Hawaiian healer and kumu now sharing lomilomi, lāʻau lapaʻau, and ho’oponopono throughout the world.
Come and be inspired by Maka’ala’s first hand stories of what it was like to learn from these three master who profoundly shaped him as a member of the first crew of the Hōkūleʻa in 1976 and throughout his decades of practice as a Native Hawaiian healer and kumu who shares lomilomi, lāʻau lapaʻau, and ho’oponopono throughout the world.
Maka'ala will be signing books at this event. Limited copies are available on site. We recommend you purchase the book in advance on Amazon and bring it with you.
