Find out how some of this year’s most talked-about issues fared at the 2025 Legislature during a luncheon presentation on Maui on Friday, May 16, featuring public policy experts from the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii.
The event will be at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with doors opening at 1 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a light lunch and parking.
The featured speakers will be Grassroot’s Ted Kefalas, director of strategic campaigns, and Malia Blom Hill, policy director. Keli‘i Akina, president and CEO, will serve as moderator.
Kefalas and Hill will address our lawmakers’ handling of Grassroot’s various housing reform proposals, the state budget, government transparency initiatives, healthcare regulations, proposed tax hikes and tax cuts, and legislation aimed at helping Lahaina rebuild and recover.
Additionally, there will be time for audience members to ask questions.
