Join us for a 2-mile guided hike as we explore the hidden world of insects at Black Run Preserve! As fall sets in, the preserve comes alive with the hum, buzz, and flutter of late-season pollinators, beetles, katydids, and other fascinating creatures preparing for winter. We’ll walk at a relaxed pace, stopping to observe insects in their natural habitats and learning about their life cycles, behaviors, and ecological roles. This is a great hike for curious minds of all ages. Bring a hand lens or bug viewer if you have one, and don’t forget your curiosity! Our trails have hard and soft sand, slight elevations, roots, and stumps and some wet areas. Porta Potty is available at the beginning and end of hike.
