We’re excited to announce that Open Sessions are returning this summer! After a wonderful journey of inspiring creativity and building our artistic community, we’re bringing back these sessions by popular demand.
These sessions are part of an ongoing initiative between ROŪGE and The Z to provide a laboratory for performers to dive into fresh techniques, experiment, and collaborate in a no-performance-pressure environment. This is a chance for us all to connect, so come play—whether you're involved in a show or just curious to explore! Join us for a single session or the full series—everyone is welcome. Come in comfortable clothes - ready to move and explore!
SUMMER SESSIONS
Intro to Directing and Script Analysis | August 3rd
Led by Patrick Mullins, this session introduces key tools for directors at every stage of development. Participants will explore how to read a script with a director’s eye, break down scenes, and begin crafting a point of view—laying the foundation for strong, imaginative storytelling in rehearsal and performance and performance.
Audition Techniques & How You Enter the Room | August 10th
Led by Leila Stephanie, this session focuses on the mental and emotional preparation needed for powerful auditions. Participants will sharpen their technique while also tackling the psychological side of the process—how to stay grounded, present, and fully themselves in the room.
Stage Management: Making Arts Through Culture Building | August 24th
Led by Connor Norton, this session dives into the art of stage management as a creative and cultural practice. Participants will explore how strong organizational skills, empathetic leadership, and intentional communication shape the artistic process and foster healthy, collaborative environments.
