Get inspired by the artwork on view and spend the day oil painting with exhibiting artist Nicole Santiago in this focused, skill-building workshop.
Whether you're new to oils or looking to refine your technique, this program offers practical, hands-on instruction designed to deepen your understanding of color and composition. Adapted from a college-level course, the session covers essential concepts—from seeing and mixing color accurately to using it intentionally within your compositions.
With personalized guidance and dedicated studio time, participants will leave with one or two practice paintings, a stronger command of materials and tools, and increased confidence in their painting practice.
There will be a 30-minute lunch break, so please bring along a bagged lunch.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nicole Santiago is a representational painter known for her semi-autobiographical depictions of domestic life. She holds a BFA from Indiana University and an MFA from the University of New Hampshire. Santiago’s work has been featured in over 150 exhibitions and is represented by First Street Gallery in New York City. Santiago’s paintings have been highlighted in The Artist's Magazine, Art New England, International Artist, Fine Art Connoisseur, and the International Painting Annual (INPA). She is a recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt Award through The Bennett Prize. Santiago currently lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she teaches as a professor of studio art at the College of William & Mary.
