Lecture by Arnaud Bikard "Jewish Vilnius through the eyes of Moi-Ver"

Vilnius Picture Gallery invites you to a lecture "Jewish Vilnius through the eyes of Moi-Ver" by Arnaud Bikard at 5:30 p.m. on 27th of May!

This lecture intends to offer an analysis of the Vilnius myth as it was conceived in the Yiddish-speaking world through the work of the artist and photographer Moï Ver (Moshe Vorobeichic). It will focus on his book "The Ghetto Lane in Wilna" published in 1931 and on its echoes in art and literature to analyze the deep resonance that the city kept in the Jewish imagination through the 20th century.

The lecture is part of the educational programme for the exhibition "You Shall Not Make an Image: Commandments, Daily Life and Change".
