This week, the Okanagan Science Centre is proud to join Canada-wide Science Literacy Week (October 6–12th) — a celebration of curiosity, discovery, and the role science plays in our everyday lives.
What is Science Literacy Week?
It’s a national initiative led by the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) to spark public interest in STEM, highlight how science shapes our world, and encourage everyone to ask questions, test ideas, and think critically.
This year’s theme is From Sea to Space — exploring connections between the depths of our oceans and the vastness of the cosmos.
Join us between October 6-12th:
💥 FREE admission 💥 all week long until October 12th at the Okanagan Science Centre — come explore our interactive exhibits, engage in hands‑on exploration, and immerse yourself in science.
💡Curiosity Quest💡— find science questions and QR codes in the communities of Armstrong, Vernon, Lake Country, and Kelowna. Participate, and you can ENTER TO WIN a VIP planetarium after hours evening for you and 20 guests (valued at $800)!
✨ Planetarium Shows ✨ — themed “Sea to Sky,” these shows will guide you from ocean depths up through the stars, linking life under water to the cosmos above. Showtimes vary and space is limited. Pre-registration is encouraged to reserve your spot.
Although admission is free, we are a community‑driven non‑profit charity — donations are always welcome and help us keep doors open, programs running, and science accessible to everyone.
