En l'honneur de la Journée internationale des travailleurs.euses, le CACV organise une projection du film 𝑼𝑵𝑰𝑶𝑵, l’histoire de travailleurs et travailleuses qui s’organisent contre l’une des corporations les plus puissantes au monde.

Face à l’une des entreprises les plus puissantes de la planète, un groupe de travailleurs et travailleuses d’Amazon se lance dans une campagne sans précédent pour syndiquer leur entrepôt à Staten Island, New York. À travers un cinéma vérité immersif, UNION suit les efforts extraordinaires d’un groupe improbable d’ouvriers et d’ouvrières qui, sans l’appui des grandes centrales syndicales ni des politiciens, tentent de créer leur propre syndicat : l’Amazon Labor Union (ALU).
Mené par le charismatique et sous-estimé Chris Smalls, ce groupe diversifié se heurte à un géant de la tech aux ressources illimitées, tout en naviguant à travers les tensions internes à leur propre mouvement. Les réalisateurs Brett Story et Stephen Maing documentent cette lutte dès le premier jour, offrant un récit captivant sur la bataille pour le pouvoir et la dignité dans un paysage économique mondialisé.

In honour of International workers day the CACV is organizing a screening of 𝑼𝑵𝑰𝑶𝑵, the story of workers taking on one of the most powerful corporations in the world.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞, and will feature tenant and labor organizers—including workers from the Amazon warehouse in Laval, which was recently shut down in a blatant act of union busting, resulting in the loss of 4500 jobs in Québec.
