🎷 Summer Jazz Workshops 2025 – Registration Now Open! 🎶
Join the VSO School of Music this summer for two immersive, in-person jazz workshops designed for instrumentalists and vocalists aged 13 and up.
Led by Canada's top jazz educators such as Jodi Proznick, BIll Coon, Miles Black, Jesse Cahill, James Danderfer, Vince Mai (week one), Steve Maddock and Cam Henderson (week two) these five-day sessions offer a dynamic blend of combo playing, masterclasses, theory, history, and daily faculty performances.

Week 1: July 14–18
Theme: The World of Jazz Composition
Special Guest: Allison Au (alto saxophone)
Week 2: July 21–25
Theme: The World of Latin Jazz
Special Guest: Rachel Therrien (trumpet)

9:00 AM – Welcome / Morning Activity
10:00 AM – Theory Classes
11:00 AM – Instrument Masterclasses
12:00 PM – Lunch / Jam Session
1:00 PM – Faculty Concert / Q&A
2:00 PM – Combo Sessions
4:00 PM – Big Band / Vocal Ensemble / Rhythm Section Jam
5:00 PM – End of Day
Enjoy the faculty and teaching assistant concert on Thursday evening at Frankie's Jazz Club.
Each week concludes with a student concert on Friday evening at 6:30 PM in Pyatt Hall.
