Victoria & Vancouver Tango Community MeetUp

What if a single afternoon could transport you to the cobblestone streets of Buenos Aires, to a buzzing artisan fair, to a mate circle filled with stories, and finally, to the heart of a milonga? Now imagine sharing that journey not just with your own tango family, but with a sister community across the nearby sea. 🌊

This special day brings together the tango communities of Vancouver and Victoria in a full-day celebration of Argentine culture, connection, and dance, right here on the West Coast. It’s also a perfect opportunity for anyone curious about tango or simply drawn to the richness of Argentinian culture.



📍SCHEDULE:

2:30–7:30 PM – Local Market
Wander through a market of handmade art and crafts by tango community members and enjoy Argentinian snacks.

3:30–4:30 PM – Community Story Panel
Grab & share some mate while listening to stories from dancers who’ve lived the Buenos Aires tango experience.

4:30–6:00 PM – Tango Documentary Screening
Sit back and enjoy a beautiful documentary about Tango

6:00–7:30 PM – Chacarera with @Jorge
Get on your feet and learn this Argentine folk dance! (Chance you’ll be performing it at night during la Milonga Tipica)

⏸️ 7:30–8:30 PM – Break
Take time to eat, relax, freshen up, and prepare for the night ahead.

8:30–12:30 AM – La Milonga Típica
Dance the night away with both communities in a beautiful milonga organized by Steven & Joanna, featuring live music by the beautiful duet Enamorados.


This event is more than just a gathering; it's a beautiful fusion of voices, histories, movements, and melodies.
