Get your tintype portrait made using an antiquarian method called Wetplate Collodion Photography. This meathod of photography was invented by Frederick Scott in 1851, and the chemicals, formulas and techniques haven't changed in over 170 years! With Geoffrey Wallang as your guide, you will be intructed on how to sit, stand, or even how certain colours transform in the finished product. (Reds turns to black, blues turn to white).
"For me, using this medium gives me a sense of purpose as it is very involved, slow and methodical... and at times, unpredictable." says Geoffrey.
This process of photography is a real alchemical treat to behold and the end results seem magical. Each session takes 30mins, 10 mins for your picture to be taken and 20-25 mins for the tintype process to unfold. You will walk away with a beautiful 4"x5" tintype plate, with an option for an additional plate for an extra $150.
Solo portraits, couples, families and pets are all welcome!
Geoffrey is a champ at taking photos of beloved animal companions.
Book your timeslot when you select your ticket. Tickets get you a photo session with Geoffrey AND entry to the Witches Bloom Market.
