Get ready for a night of lush textures and guitar-forward dreamscapes as The Starling Effect, Shimbashi Station and Thomas VanAlstine of Farhaven share the stage. The Starling Effect bring their swirling blend of shoegaze, psych-rock, and ‘90s alt energy, playing their singles “A Strange Habit of Disappearing” and “Blueskiesgrey.” Joining them are synth-sparked indie outfit Shimbashi Station, playing songs off their debut LP Takeoff!, fusing retro City Pop shimmer with sharp, modern hooks. Opening the evening will be Thomas VanAlstine of Farhaven playing his first solo show playing some new songs and some familiar ones. Come early, stay late—this one's all vibe.

Featuring veterans of Hinterland, Stride Elementary, and Windows '78, their sound swirls with melodic haze and punchy hooks. Shimbashi Station

Shimbashi Station is a Vancouver indie rock/synthpop band weaving sharp guitars, punchy hooks, and a touch of Japanese City Pop nostalgia. Starting as an idea in a Tokyo train station, Cody Clark, Kristian Goze, Jeffrey Felix and Ivar Swanson have been lighting up venues like the Fox, Biltmore, and Red Gate for over 2 years. Their latest LP Takeoff! released in March of 2025 featuring songs they’ve been playing live for years plus new ones never heard pre-release!

Thomas, the rhythm guitarist and vocalist of Farhaven, grew up in Vancouver's rich musical landscape. His style, influenced by bands like Oasis and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, weaves through the fabric of each song, inviting listeners to find their own meaning in the music.
