Get ready for another amazing night of music featuring some of Vancouvers best at 2nd Floor Gastown. Thursday August 21st we have none other then The Gravel-Aires gracing our stage!
The Gravel-Aires play original Acoustic Roots, North-Americana, Country and Blues music. Formed in 2016 as an acoustic duet featuring singer/songwriter Mark Branscombe on guitar and harmonica and Michael Mahoney on guitar, dobro & mandolin. - The Gravel-Aires third full-length album “Westerly” was released in 2024. - Their second album “Headlights in the Rear View Mirror” was released in 2021 with a video produced for the single “Three Quarter Time”
receiving airplay in the UK, US, Canada and Australia. Vancouver Sun review of Headlights in the Rear View Mirror” - Stuart Derdeyn March 1 2021 –“The seven songs range from the swinging opener Startin’ to Get It to the country twang of Three Quarter Time. The differing vocal styles of the two writers have kind of a Blue Rodeo feel.”
The Gravel-Aires first album of original music “National Avenue” was released in 2018 About the Gravel-Aires: ~ Mark Branscombe - Roots guy, Indie guy, Pop guy, Blues guy, Country guy, working guy from the eastside of Vancouver Canada. Since 1978 performed and recorded with Vancouver blues rock band Mud Bay, crossing paths and opening shows for Stevie Ray Vaughn, James Cotton, James Hunter, Long John Baldry and Canadian bluesmen Jim Byrnes, Dutch Mason and Big Dave McClean. ~ Michael Mahoney: Guitars, mandolins, dobro: anything with strings, singer/songwriter Mike draws from a wide spectrum of musical interests, including Appalachian bluegrass, outlaw country, Delta blues, rock n roll, R&B, punk rock, reggae and alternative rock and Americana. Mike is also an abstract painter and an avid reader of history books.

The 2nd Floor Gastown offers Live Music on Thursdays - Sundays, open during Dinner Service from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Guests may seat for both sets depending on availability and manager discretion.

2nd - 8:30pm - 9:45pm
