The Bad Pennies LIVE at 2nd Floor Gastown

The Bad Pennies formed in Vancouver, BC, in the fall of 2022, when Jeff Baker (guitar/vocals) and Mark Milner (bass) began jamming together in a rehearsal studio at Pandora’s Box. In early 2023, Jim Reid was recruited as the drummer for the band. In June 2023, the band entered the BC Blues Challenge to begin building an audience. After the live performance round of the competition, the Fraser Valley Blues Society invited The Bad Pennies to represent the society, and by extension the province, in the band category at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, where they played a number of Beale Street clubs, including the venerable Rum Boogie Café. After their return from Memphis, the band recruited a fourth member. Hailing from Mexico City, Francisco Bonilla (guitar, vocals & percussion) plays electric and slide guitar. Jim Reid left the band in August, 2024, and was replaced by our newest Bad Penny, Guenter Schulz, on drums.

The 2nd Floor Gastown offers Live Music on Thursdays - Sundays, open during Dinner Service from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Guests may seat for both sets depending on availability and manager discretion.

1st - 6:15pm - 7:45pm
2nd - 8:30pm - 9:45pm
