Mark Sullivan is recognized as one of Canada’s top fiddlers, known for his skill, teaching, and contributions to traditional music. Praised by Grammy-winning Liz Carroll as “a force in the world” and celebrated by Roots Music Canada for his timeless compositions, he has earned widespread respect. A three-time Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Champion, Mark’s roots trace back to Bowmanville, Ontario, where he grew up inspired by country music & old time fiddle icons like Don Messer and Graham Townsend. His 2022 album Promenade Home reflects his early dance hall influences. Now based in British Columbia, he serves as President of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association, championing the preservation and promotion of Canada’s fiddling heritage while continuing to perform, compose, and inspire.
