Cineworks is pleased to host the return of 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺: 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝟴𝗺𝗺, a workshop series on double 8mm cameras, led by filmmaker Inanna Cusi.
This is a great opportunity, for anyone curious about wanting to get hands-on experience with analog film. Cineworks has been working hard to maintain and preserve a stock of beautiful double 8mm cameras to help nurture the art of analog filmmaking.
Across four sessions, you will have the opportunity to:
-Learn and practice the basics of the Double 8mm camera, including loading and unloading film.
-Learn and put to practice the basics of the Sekonic light meter.
-Team up in a micro crew to shoot a roll of double 8mm film using props and film lights.
-Develop your film with the use of chemicals.
-Learn how to scan your film with the Wolverine Film Scanner.
-Screen your processed footage in our Black Box studio using analog projectors.
On the last session of the series there will be a special private screening hosted by Cineworks in the Black Box studio, where all of the participants will get to see the unedited footage that they filmed projected on the big screen.
A few weeks after the series ends, you will receive a digitized copy of your team’s (unedited) footage, and as an added bonus, those that complete the series will receive a free weekend double 8mm camera rental* (film purchased separately).
*Valid for up to one year after the fourth session. Subject to camera availability.
