Infidels Jazz Presents: Lone Bear at the Painted Ship

Grinningly growling it’s way out of the darkness, Lone Bear, Vancouver’s most playfully mauling instrumental trio, unleashes its love of heavy grooves, pretty songs and no-rules improvisation in their first performance at the Painted Ship. Featuring a lineup of LB players (guitarist Jeff Younger, bassist Karlis Silins, and drummer Max Ley), the band mashes classic hits from The Temptations, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Beatles through a celestial arrangement funhouse and a free jazz improv blender. There’s a good chance a couple of Younger’s original compositions will make an appearance too. Always beastly, always fun, and always an unpredictable musical adventure.
