Celebrate Día de los Muertos in Vancouver with this interactive Sugar Skull Art Workshop at Granville Island. This hands-on activity invites children, youth, and adults to decorate traditional Mexican sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar) using icing, glitter, beads, and vibrant colors.
More than a fun and creative experience, this workshop explores the cultural symbolism of sugar skulls, which represent both the fragility and the beauty of life. In Mexican tradition, sugar skulls are placed on ofrendas (altars) to honor loved ones who have passed away, offering a joyful and colorful tribute during Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
This workshop is designed for all ages and is family-friendly. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children and adults to learn together, create art, and connect with Mexican heritage in a meaningful way
