About the event

Garbology: how bottles and trash shape our perspective of the past
Have you ever found shards of china on the beach, mingled among seaglass? The study of garbage teaches us who we have been as people throughout history, what has been important to us, what has not, and our methods of disposal. Historical traces of waste shine through the modern landscape everywhere, with garbage of past centuries being revealed constantly, proving we have consistently been disposing, now and before. Find out more about the study of garbage and what it tells us with garbology expert and collector Louis Girouard. Entry by donation, accessible on the museum main floor.
