This course is ideal for students passionate about nature, sustainability, and the intersection of science and society. It’s a great fit for those considering environmental science, biology, or resource management in post-secondary studies—or for anyone looking to understand and engage with the ecological systems around them.
Local ecosystems, global climate, and meaningful scientific engagement. This course explores how scientists assess and predict environmental health by examining water quality, land use, and habitat management. Students will gain hands-on experience investigating the local area while learning the principles behind ecosystem monitoring and analysis.
From personal lifestyle choices to population-scale sustainability, we explore how individual and collective actions shape the planet. Topics include global climate systems, climate change, and human impacts on biodiversity, with an emphasis on evidence-based understanding and action.
