From the first pulsing beat to the final shimmering chord, we’re conjuring a sonic storm of tropical heat, surf‑tinged reverbs, and spicy rhythms that refuse to let you stand still.

Empanadas Ilegales
a Vancouver-based psychedelic cumbia and salsa ensemble known for genre-bending compositions and kinetic live performances. Formed in 2017 by musicians with roots in Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, and Canada, the group merges Latin American traditions with surf rock, free jazz, and experimental psychedelia. Their forthcoming album Sancocho Trifasico reflects the trifecta of ingredients in its title with a three-phase production approach across multiple studios and collaborators.

Midnight Boogaloo:
a collective of musicians coming from all around the Milky Way. This project was founded by Alan Ruiz with the intention of bringing latin descargas back to the streets. Influenced by the New York sound of Jazz, Soul and Latin music from the 60’s and 70’s, this project emerges from the rich and diverse Vancouver music scene.
This band is formed by Juno-Nominated drummer Nick Bracewell (Canada), bassist Linaldo Sans (Brasil), percussionist Sangito Bigelow (Canada) and guitarist Alan Ruiz (Colombia)
Tropico Norte
ft Diana Mulata, Tom Howard & Ana Rivera:
a musical map that connects the South with the North. It’s a project that shines a light on the presence of Latin American and Southern sounds in the Canadian North, bringing forward the cultural richness carried through the migration of rhythms, stories, and musical knowledge. This tropical world didn’t arrive overnight, it’s been built through movement, memory, and resistance. Trópico Norte is a collective of vinyl selectors who celebrate these sounds, weaving together past and present through music that speaks of identity, roots, and joy.
