Mathew is the Director of Large Case Lending at Manulife Bank, where he leads the development, underwriting, and closing of major insurance lending files across Canada. He specializes in facilities ranging from $10 million to over $100 million, working closely with advisory teams in tax, planning, legal, and insurance to deliver client-centric lending solutions.

With over two decades in commercial lending—including roles at GE Capital, Meridian Credit Union, and nine years at Manulife—Mathew brings deep technical expertise and a consultative, collaborative approach to complex transactions. He is known for combining financial acumen with a personable, client-first demeanour.

Mathew began his career as a CPA-CA at Ernst & Young LLP in Toronto and transitioned to lending, eventually becoming Director of Underwriting and Portfolio Management for Manulife’s Specialized Lending division before assuming his current role in 2020.
