Held on the Astro Club campus at 165 West 4th Avenue, the Astro Arts Festival is throwing a full-blown block party for the arts. Astro Alley, the heart of the festival, is back after a two-year hiatus.
Festival goers will see over 35 experimental murals, graffiti works, and street art pieces painted live through the weekend, alongside six brand-new large-scale mural installations, aka The Mural Wrap. Artists will have complete creative freedom to turn the block into an immersive, open-air gallery.
Located between Columbia and Manitoba Streets, the laneway was home to the festival’s 2023 pilot. Now, it stands as one of the last remaining spaces in Vancouver for unrestricted creative expression.
The weekend-long celebration will also feature live DJ sets, beer gardens, immersive art installations, open studios, and the return of the much-anticipated 100 Amigos Exhibition, showcasing over 100 local talents and curated by Pablo Zamudio, Drew Young, and Douglas Coupland.
Saturday evening brings Snag—the live-painting raffle and art party where festival-goers can win original artworks and cheer on artists in the thrilling Arena Mural Battle.
Founded by artist Drew Young and arts advocate Steff Love, Astro Club reimagines the studio model. Following its grand opening in 2024, Astro Club is now home to over 60 artists. More than a workspace, it’s a movement rooted in fine art, public art, and street culture, built to elevate talent and foster creative expression.
To help fund the festival Astro is proud to launch The Patron Program—an invitation to be part of something bigger. Your support helps bring the festival and public art to life. Supporters will have access to exclusive patron-only merchandise and event access
Produced by the artists of Astro Club and powered by Opal Projects, a leader in West Coast visual arts programming, the festival promises to be a landmark event for Vancouver’s urban arts scene.
