Time: 12pm - 1pm
Location: SFU Segal Building - S 1200- 1500 Event Rooms, Granville Street, Vancouver
As part of the university's work to explore the opportunities and impacts of AI at SFU, the AI strategy committee is pleased to host a second AI Literacy Lunch and Learn session for faculty and staff hosted by distinguished Beedie Professor, Associate Dean (Executive Education) and Academic Director for the Indigenous Business Leadership EMBA in the Beedie School of Business, Dr. Andrew Gemino.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping how we live and work. If you’ve ever wondered, “What exactly is AI, and how does it affect me?” you’re not alone. This in-person session at the Vancouver Campus explores how staff and faculty can amplify their expertise, creativity, and influence using Generative AI. We will discuss why developing AI skills is a key to career development and how AI can extend human capability, turning your experience and knowledge into greater impact. No previous AI experience or knowledge necessary.
Think of using AI as learning how to drive. You don’t need to be a mechanic to use a car. You need to understand some basics about how it works, how to use it responsibly, and then be ready to explore the amazing places it can take you.
