DREAMTIME
5Rhythms® Winter Solstice Dance and Ceremony with Marcia Jones
Featuring multinstrumentalist David Yates
Wednesday, December 17, 2025
7:00 - 9:30 PM
At St. James: 3214 W 10th Ave in Vancouver, BC
Approaching the longest night of the year, the world wraps itself in a blanket of darkness. Inviting movement and breath, we attune to the pulse of the shifting seasons. It calls us inward to rest, to release, to remember.
Through the map of the 5Rhythms practice with ritual and quiet reflection, we return to the Earth’s rhythm and the deep stillness of the Winter Solstice.
In this sacred pause, the dreamer awakens, and new visions begin to stir—unburdened by the noise of daily life.
Awaiting the return of the light, we plant the seeds of our intentions, trusting in what will bloom with the coming Spring.
Guided by David Yate’s resonant soundscapes and the 5Rhythms dance and ceremony, Marcia invites you to come to let go of the burdens of what no longer serves, rest in the sweetness of the dark, and rise in celebration of light, renewal, and connection.
Please wear black or dark clothing in honour of the Winter Solstice.
Tickets: $35
Part of the proceeds of the event will be donated to Covenant House Vancouver to support homeless youth.

David Yates is a heartful precision sound ninja. He first delved into the deep power of the didgeridoo in 2009 with his teacher Shine Edgar (who learned from elders of the Noongar people in Australia). He then branched into the realm of sound healing and sound journeys gradually weaving an assortment of powerful instruments into his repertoire. He now plays for a wide range of sound, meditation, dance, and yoga events in spaces throughout Vancouver and beyond, including virtually. His live instrumentation includes the didgeridoo, handpan, native flute, fujara, kalimba, gong, mouth harp, and more.
