# Event Details - **Event Name**: Switch & Steal Progressive Mini-Series with Myles & Tessa - **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 23 Nov, 2025 at 06:00 pm – Sun, 23 Nov, 2025 at 07:00 pm - **Event Description**: Continue to upgrade your connection skills by learning how to play the addictive game of switching between leading and following as well as stealing partners during a dance. This workshop will focus on the technique of performing these skills and will provide collaborative practice with coaches’ feedback. 4-week series in November on Sundays from 6-7 PM Nov 2, 9, 16, 23 Taught by Canadian West Coast Swing Champions, Myles and Tessa. How it works: - No partner required. - Pre-requisite: Experienced West Coast Swing dancers only. Must be very comfortable with all basic patterns. Completed Intro B or equivalent. - Content will be progressive: if you miss a session, you’ll need to catch up via video recap or private lesson. Any of these: Dancers who are very comfortable with their primary role - minimum completed Intro B or equivalent. Dancers who are already dancing the opposite role or might be curious to start. Dancers who have been enjoying stealing already in social dancing or birthday jams and want to work on better flow. Dancers who are fascinated but intimidated by stealing and are ready to learn more. DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DO THE OPPOSITE ROLE? You don’t need to know the steps of the opposite role in order to participate in the class series. You don’t need to know the opposite role in order to participate in stealing. There are however physics required to support the flow of the partnership from both roles. This may inspire you to to want to learn more about the opposite role in a regular class, and will make it easier to learn. HOW MUCH STEALING VS SWITCHING WILL BE TAUGHT? We’ll be focusing on stealing, which occasionally will involve switching between taking leadership and yielding to leadership. If you have been already working on learning the opposite role, this will be good to supplement this project and get more practice. There will be some projects in each class assigned to challenge partners who already dance both roles.
