The 2025 festival poster is created by Makoto Chi, a tattoo artist, sculptor, and painter whose artwork is informed by his mixed heritages, exploring diasporic mythologies with a sense of tenderness, curiosity and edge. Born and raised in Vancouver’s DTES and Chinatown, Makoto fondly recalls attending Powell Street Festival as a child. He now lives and works at Lupinewood Collective in Western Massachusetts.
