Art Barn School of Art and Chesterton Art Center are partnering with Shirley Heinze Land Trust for Nature in the Arts at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve on Saturday, August 23. This event is free and includes a variety of native plant-inspired art projects you’ll get to take home!
What to Expect:
-Visitors may stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. CDT
-Make a zine with Art Barn School of Art! Choose from frog, monarch, and tree life cycle templates.
-Create collages with Chesterton Art Center, and play around with different materials and textures to make your own tree!
-Contribute to a collaborative tree art project and watch the tree “grow” over the course of the event.
-Guided hikes will be led throughout the day.
The Duneland Plein Air Painters will be painting throughout the preserve, capturing the late-summer scenes of Meadowbrook Nature Preserve.
-Food available for purchase through Mamacita’s Food Truck.
