This summer, the music world of ILSNA takes the stage. A world born from heartbreak, strung by loss and lit by the wild beauty of loving deeply. During this concert, ILSNA will bring you delicious unreleased, original songs in Maltese, along with playful performative surprises, in what promises to be an unforgettable, heart-opening concert.
ILSNA is the first music project by performance artist Ruth Borg (MLT). In this magical unfolding, Ruth joins forces with musician, composer, and sonic weaver Jethro Cooke (UK), who threads her melodies and Maltese lyrics into harmonic tapestries with his guitar and voice. Fleur van den Berg (NL) is the magic conductress who moulds the arc of this performance and how the performance inhabits the stage. And for this concert, the trio is joined by percussionist powerhouse Pete Galea (MLT).
This is a concert reimagining 'ILSNA: Songs and Stories of Lovers'. A theatre performance from earlier this year, that dove into what it means to be a lover to yourself, to another, to the world.
Warning:
For those afraid we’ll make you do something, as we often do — yes, we will. But don’t worry; everything is optional (except feeling things). Despite the looming sense of danger, we’ll do our best to create a space where you can laugh, cry, soften, and possibly have the time of your life.
A cashless food and drinks area will be operating pre and post-show.
A fresh cocktail menu and drinks will be available courtesy of Islands8, along with a delicious focaccia bar hosted by Baked.
Rooftop Series is presented and co-produced by ADfC and Artistic Director Annalisa Schembri. Supported by Visit Malta, Cheeky Monkey Gastropub and Piscopo Gardens.
