Art from Elsewhere: DEEP THROAT, presented in partnership with Valletta Contemporary, marks MOMENTUM’s 15th anniversary. We are proud to celebrate this landmark in Malta with the sixth edition of MOMENTUM’s site-specific travelling exhibition series reframing the MOMENTUM Collection in relation to global urgencies and local contexts. This edition of Art from Elsewhere confronts the obscene spectacle of contemporary power, where politics, media, and popular culture collapse into a theatre of exposure and control. Drawing on the MOMENTUM Collection in dialogue with Maltese artists, the exhibition explores how art both foresees and resists this condition, offering alternative ways of seeing, feeling, and imagining. In a world where war, inequality, and manipulation are consumed as entertainment, DEEP THROAT probes the contradictions of surveillance and self-exposure, secrecy and confession, spectacle and truth. Bringing together artists from across continents, the exhibition reframes art as a vital act of resistance and recognition - insisting that to truly see the world through art is to reclaim our humanity from the pornography of politics.
