Storm King Art Center

"For artists and lovers of art, Storm King is Mt. Olympus. Arraying our tables, glasses, forks, and knives just so is our best effort to fit in. If a perusing arriviste mistakes the table arrangement for one of the exhibitions or gets lost in the Maya Lin, c’est la vie.

Chef Clare is a four-time James Beard-nominated chef and 2025 Best Chef: NY State semifinalist for her latest project, Stissing House. Dating to the dawn of the American Republic, Stissing House was built in 1782 to serve as a watering hole for travelers passing through the Hudson Valley. Chef Clare, a co-owner of King in Manhattan’s SoHo district, ventured upstate in 2022 to renovate the country tavern. Her menus remain true to her classic culinary style: relaxed, simple, elegantly luxurious, exceptional.
