Applause Vadodara is vadodara's most consistent theatre initiative striving to bridge art and society needs since 2014. With more than 10 productions and various workshops that have travelled the country and won accolades Applause Vadodara's founders and core-team conceptualized a theatre program for every single person in the city! Yes! So that each and every one of us can fulfil our dreams and acting aspirations.

Intensive Acting Program started the first season in April 2023 and today with 10 seasons completed more than 100 participants have begun their careers many have lived-out their childhood dreams of performing while actors with prior experience have polished their skill and talent setting the stage on fire with their energy!

This 11th Season is for YOU and only YOU.

20 Sessions + 2 mentorship and rehearsal sessions + Performance

Sundays & Saturdays - Evening - As per schedule

Orientation Workshop - 6 PM to 7.30 PM | 18 May 2025 | Sunday

Applause Vadodara presents the Intensive Acting Program where over 4 weeks you will build your own performance. This performance will be staged. 

Take-aways: 

• Physical movement training
• Voice-speech and intonation training
• Developing intuition and creative thinking learning to develop content
• Introduction to script development
• Opportunity to perform on stage and showcase potential 
• Recorded content that you can share on social media 
• An original piece for your portfolio

Who is this for: 

• Students aged 16 to 25 who want to polish their public speaking communication confidence and other skills. 
• Professionals aged 25 to 55 who want all of the above or want to touch upon the nascent acting aspiration that was put away for professional and family responsibilities. (You made sacrifices we feel you. We will make sure your dream to perform comes true!)
• Adults aged 55 and above who want to come back to acting or want to grow youthful with new experiences.

*Children above the age of 10 may apply and two spots will be made available.

What will the process be:

• You will have 4 hours sessions per week for 5 weeks. Which means this is a 20 hours program where the facilitator will be involved. There will be 6 additional rehearsals of 10 to 12 hours duration through the final week. 
• Over and above the facilitators role you will be coached to carry on similar rehearsal at your end as self-work equivalent to about 20 hours per week (Approximately 30 minutes a day only.)
• Eventually we would expect collective performance development by the participants. Performance is included in the program; however participants may choose the degree of their participation. This is voluntary and up-to the participant’s comfort; the coaches will encourage maximum participation 

Total program duration: 40 to 50 hours. 

• Each participant will be given personal attention and mentorship. 
• The performance will be open to an audience. This may or may not be a ticketed show. Tickets will be listed on professional booking websites as for all shows presented by Applause Vadodara

Registration process: 

• You can register by completing the registration on this link or by filling up the registration form on google docs. If you would like to apply for a scholarship please write to YXBwbGF1c2V2YWRvZGFyYSB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t with ‘Scholarship for IAP’ in the subject and an introduction to your profile and reason for request. 
• Members of Applause Vadodara who have been a part of at least 5 New Theatre Rules sessions or any previous 5 day workshops or above 5 hours of theatre work with Applause Vadodara or have worked in a production or play staged by the group are eligible for a 15%and previous IAP students may enroll again by availing 40% scholarship on the program fee. About the group:

Applause Vadodara encourages an age-no-bar gender-no-bar language-no-bar type of association with theatre and art. Our mission is to create Innovative theatre Experiences that engage empower and entertain. We are Vadodara's first and most popular theatre initiative started in 2014.

Applause has more than 10 productions to credit and artists have performed at various festivals such as Kalaghoda Arts Festival International Children's Theatre festival Sayaji Literature Festival to name a few. Workshops by Applause Vadodara have been hosted across the country from Chandigarh to Mumbai and various other locations.

About the key facilitators:

Apsara Iyengar has been a mentor and Theatre practitioner for a 12 years now and she has been mentoring & traveling around the country as a Theatre facilitator in various universities schools and festivals

She’s a regular writer for Theatre gym London and as a key back facilitator for playback Nigeria’s International Theatre Festival. She’s a published microfiction author with Half Baked Beans publication. 

Anshul Sharma is a film-maker with a wide range of experience from theatre to feature film making. He specializes in voice acting and conveying emotion in context to scenes. He is also an Improv coach taking regular sessions at Applause Vadodara.

Sonu Chaturvedi started his journey as a theatre professional in 2019 Bhopal. He played numerous variety of roles onstage as an actor performing across Bhopal Delhi(NSD) Indore Pune Mumbai Vadodara & many other cities. He worked in the film Navyug (Youtube) and protagonist in an upcoming short film.
