Mark your calendars! Puzzlepalooza returns next month on Sunday, June 22nd to the Unity Elementary School Gym at 84 School Street.
Puzzle aficionados, join us for our Oddments Puzzlepalooza on Sunday, June 22nd from 2-5 PM! Gather your team of 2-4 of your best puzzling family and friends (12 yrs. and over), plan your puzzle strategy, and come prepared to put together a 1,000-piece puzzle as fast as you can! Teams will have a 2.5 hour time limit, and if teams do not complete their puzzle in that time limit, we’ll count remaining puzzle pieces to determine winners. To count, border must be complete and any completed areas of the puzzle must attach to the border by at least one piece.
Join us at the Unity Elementary School gym at 84 School Street, Unity, for this event; teams can bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to power through the puzzle-making! Unity Parks and Recreation Commission will also provide some sugar and caffeine to help your concentration! 🙂
BONUS FUN:
Bonus #1) If all team members come wearing something "odd", as in clearly unrelated to the rest of their outfit, using the base colors of blue and orange, your team will earn a 45-second head start. Be creative!
Bonus #2) If a team registers with a creative "Oddness"-themed team name, your team will earn a 30-second head start. Team name must be clean (no x-rated themes).
Bonus #3) The first team to complete a particular element of the puzzle (to be announced just before competition starts) will receive a special prize.
Registration Fee: $ 20/team
Registration Deadline: June 19th, 5 PM
Max. Teams = 12 (secure your spot!!)
Ideas to help you organize your puzzling and to speed up your results:
1) Bring small cardboard box lids to help you divide puzzle pieces by color or theme. Bring small, flat pieces of cardboard or wide spatulas to help you move puzzle sections.
2) Unwrap your puzzle, open your box, and dump your puzzle pieces. Flip over all pieces, and as you do, pull any border pieces and place in your puzzle area.
3) Always start with the border!
4) Assign sections of the puzzle that each team member can complete and then add/attach to the puzzle when ready.
5) Bring fuel--sugar and caffeine!
