BTech VR For Grown-Ups

Escape the everyday and dive into a virtual reality (VR) experience each month at the Burnside Library! Join us on the first Friday of every month for a captivating 20-minute VR session.

What to Expect:

• A Fresh Adventure Every Month: Each month we will feature a different, curated VR experience aimed at adults. For program details, check the monthly schedule below.
• Perfect for Beginners: No prior VR knowledge or technical skills are required! Our friendly staff will guide you through everything you need to know.
• Comfortable and Accessible: Sessions can be enjoyed either sitting or standing, depending on the experience and your preference.

Important Information:

• Age Restriction: Participants must be 18 years or older.
• Session Length: Each VR experience will last approximately 20 minutes.
• Bookings Essential: Due to time and availability, these sessions are limited, so please ensure you are able to attend prior to booking, and that you are booking for the VR program you would like to experience.

Health and Safety Considerations:
While VR offers incredible immersive experiences, it's important to be aware of potential health considerations:

• Motion Sickness: Some individuals may experience motion sickness or nausea during or after VR sessions. If you are prone to motion sickness, please let our staff know.
• Balance: VR can sometimes affect your sense of balance. These sessions require only a small amount of movement, so please consider if you would prefer to be sitting or standing.
• Visual Sensitivities: If you have a history of seizures or light sensitivity, please consult with a medical professional before participating in VR.

Friday 6 June 2025 - Apollo 11 (experience the moon landing as if you were there)

Friday 4 July 2025 - Tilt Brush (3D painting and creativity)

Friday 1 August 2025 - Star Wars Droid Repair Bay (help fix droids aboard a star ship)

Friday 5 September 2025 - Holden Production Line (gain a unique perspective with 360 degree video)

Friday 3 October 2025 - Blobby Tennis! (play tennis against a blob)

Friday 7 November 2025 - Google Earth (explore the world virtually)

Friday 5 December 2025 - MUVA Virtual Museum of Art (discover classic works of art, historical pieces and cultural objects)
