Qigong, pronounced "chee gung", or "chee gong", is an ancient Chinese body, mind, and spirit practice, valued for enhancing health and wellness for over 2500 years. "Qi/chi" translates as "life's energy" and "gong" is form of physical practice. Qigong is a limb of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the idea that nature, without human interference, is balanced and harmonious. Being part of nature, humans have the capacity for achieving mental, physical, and spiritual harmony and balance through practices like Qigong that generate and cultivate qi, or life's energy. The practice of Qigong supports the management of energy levels, regulates health, and brings balance to life. The primary focus of Qigong is the balancing of yin and yang, or opposing forces and feelings. Supported by evidence-based research, Qigong is promoted by the World Health Organization for its myriad health benefits.
