Secondo appuntamento del public programme Evolving Soundscapes per la mostra “Haori. Gli abiti maschili del primo Novecento narrano il Giappone”, a cura di Chiara Lee e freddie Murphy.
MIZU costruisce paesaggi sonori espansivi attraverso un personalissimo approccio stratiforme al violoncello, esplorando la propria identità di donna trans e la propria identità musicale. Sul palco, il suo lavoro prende nuova vita, sfidando i confini tra concerto, teatro e arte performativa attraverso messe in scena elettrizzanti e catartiche. Ha ricevuto elogi da testate come Pitchfork, Bandcamp Daily, e Sterogum.

Second event of the public programme Evolving Soundscapes, part of the exhibition “Haori. Early 20th-century men’s clothing tells the story of Japan”, curated by Chiara Lee and freddie Murphy.
MIZU creates vast soundscapes through her stratiform compositions and approach to the cello, exploring both her identity as a trans woman and as a musician. On stage, her work takes on new life, challenging the boundaries between concert, theatre, and performance art through electrifying and cathartic stagings.
She has received praise from outlets such as Pitchfork, Bandcamp Daily, and Stereogum.
