Join ACEL-Tucson for a creative and inspiring evening of storytelling and hands-on artistry at Molding Your Vision: A Pottery Workshop, featuring Tucson-based ceramic artist Keita Tsutsumi.
Keita will open the evening with talk on the art of clay making, his personal journey into ceramics, and how he developed his unique voice as a Japanese-American multi-medium artist. Following his talk, participants will roll up their sleeves for a hands-on "Make a Mug" workshop, where Keita will guide you through the process of shaping your own functional piece of pottery.
Whether you're a beginner or simply curious about the craft, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore creativity, connect with others, and leave with a handmade creation of your own.
About the Instructor:
Keita Tsutsumi moved to Tucson in 2014 to serve in an AmeriCorps role and began teaching ceramics at a community art center serving adults with disabilities. Since 2020, he has been a dedicated instructor at the Tucson Clay Co-op. His work, which combines the discipline of ceramics with movement arts, can be found on Etsy and at local artisan markets.
