We invite you to a meaningful afternoon of reflection, music, and renewal on Saturday, August 16, as acclaimed composer, pianist, and longtime church musician William Campbell leads a special retreat titled Joy in Times of Struggle. A gifted artist whose music has been described as “profoundly mellow, soothing, and inspiring” (The Echo), William brings a deep well of compassion, creativity, and spiritual insight to his work. With over 30 years of experience serving congregations across North America, he understands the sacred intersection of beauty and brokenness—and how joy can still bloom in difficult seasons.
This retreat is a gentle invitation to pause, listen, and reconnect—with God, with one another, and with the quiet strength within ourselves. Through original music, personal reflections, and thoughtfully chosen readings from both Christian and other wisdom traditions, William will guide us through a time of stillness and inspiration. The retreat begins at 2:30 p.m. and concludes with a 5:00 p.m. Eucharistic service, led by Fr. Allen Breckenridge and featuring songs by William and members of our Joyful Noise music group.
Come as you are—bring an open heart, and leave refreshed.
Co-hosted by St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church and Joyful Noise.
