As the heat of summer goes on, memories of last and next winter rains come to the surface. Those days of cold mornings when rain freezes are honored. Thank you magical frozen water. The rain fell and several days later in the still cold dawn, it froze. If/when water doesn't freeze in the winter desert, our world is different, and not for the better.
For our ceremonial circle we gather to say thank you and express gratitude to our dear and ancient friend Water in its three forms (gas, liquid and solid/frozen). From this hot hot time, we make offerings for our collective water ancestor. It is invited to visit us more often this summer, and it is welcome to come again in the winter. In this firey era we can collectively extend our gratitude for the cold rain and ice during an era of warming climate, as the cold water can help cool and soothe our pains now.
We will have rain water, and pieces of frozen rain water available so anyone who wants to place a tiny bit of frozen time on top of our heads as we remember. We will honor the jet stream, bringer of chill and dispeller of high pressure heat domes. To send our prayer, we will make rhythm together to feel the connections between ourselves and with our deep time ancestor that we need so much.
Invitation to Bring: (not required)
a feather (that you can legally have) or a fan if you have one
