NOTE: The Prostate Cancer Support Group
will NOT MEET on July 15th or on August 5th.
Regular meetings will resume on August 19, 2025
At our July 1st meeting, we will have a second visit from special guest, Juan Contreras. Juan is a clinical research assistant in the College of Nursing, and a graduate student in the College of Health Sciences.
He will invite us to participate in phase two of an Exercise-Intervention Study focused on prostate cancer, called Exercising Together. Participation is easy and fun because it is done by patient-caregiver pairs, at home by video conference, in both Spanish and English. It uses both Zoom and YouTube.
In brief, the goal is to improve the health of cancer survivors and their caregivers, reflecting the study's impact on physical health, mental health, and relationship quality.
Here are directions to our in-person meeting in Building 1 (the main building).
Directions to Room 1290/1291:
1) After entering Building 1 (the first building as you drive in to the AZ Cancer Center campus), turn left and walk toward the Cafe at the end of the hall.
2) At the end of the hall, turn right and walk down past the restrooms and the elevator.
3) Room(s) 1290/1291 are the last doors on your left before you reach a double door leading to a staff only section.
Support groups foster a sense of community. It's easy to feel isolated and alone when you're not feeling well or worried. Being with others who know the situation from the inside is helpful, even uplifting. At the very least it can help relieve some stress, and that's a good thing. So I hope you'll join in, and feel free to share the meeting link with others who might benefit.
If you cannot join in person, then please join using Microsoft Teams. Both our monthly meetings have NEW Teams links. If you have any questions, please let me know. If you haven't used Teams before and have any trouble practicing with it before the meeting, please also let me know and we can troubleshoot. If you need to reach me the day of the meeting, please call my cell phone (see below).
We look forward to seeing you there!
As always, family and guests are welcome.
Free and open to everyone.
Please contact Steve if you have questions about participation on-line or in person in this group, which meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month.
Both our monthly meetings have NEW Teams links. Please don't use the old links. Please contact Steve for the new links (
