This NRA Instructor Training Course will help you develop the KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTITUDE, and techniques needed to organize and teach the NRA Basic Rifle course.This class includes classroom and range time learning to how to teach the safe handling and firing of rifles. Instructor Candidates learn how to teach the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the benchrest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.
Candidates must attend and fully participate in every portion of the class, score a 90% or higher on the written examination, and pass the shooting qualification. BIT (Basic Instructor Training) must have been completed in the past two years (If you still need this, please reach out and we can make arrangements for you earlier in the week).
You will need a semi-automatic, bolt, or lever action rifle with your choice of optic, 100 rounds of appropriate ammunition, eye and ear protection, a baseball cap, outdoor range appropriate clothing, and a packed lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Payment of $250 is due in full by noon on Friday, June 13th, in order to secure your seat and allow for the ordering of necessary materials. We accept Cash, Cashapp, Paypal, or Venmo (Paypal and Venmo MUST be friends/family or additional fee will be added). Checks are accepted if received by June 6th to allow for clearing before ordering materials. Message with any questions and to make payment arrangements to secure your seat.
