Family Hike – Long’s Canyon Wildlife Trail

Explore nature as a family with a guided hike through scenic Long’s Canyon. This leisurely, family-friendly hike winds through the piñon-juniper woodland and alongside the river’s riparian corridor. A few interactive adventure packs will be available - each backpack filled with fun tools like bug boxes, magnifiers, guidebooks, binoculars, and a nature journal.
Along the way, we’ll discover the wonders of two distinct ecosystems—and, if we go the distance, explore the K-T Boundary site and visit wildlife blinds along the trail.
Don’t forget to bring water, wear sturdy shoes, and come with your sense of wonder!
These activities are free to the public, however all vehicles are required to have a Park Pass. You can purchase a pass at the Visitor Center or any of our self-serve stations.
Meet at 8:30 at the Long's Canyon Trailhead for this adventure.
