Join us for an evocative literary afternoon as acclaimed debut novelists Sharon Guard and June O’Sullivan read from their newly published works, Assembling Ailish and The Lighthouse Keeper’s Wife (Poolbeg Press). These powerful, lyrical novels explore themes of motherhood, memory, love, and survival—set against rich Irish landscapes and emotional interiors.
Sharon Guard, winner of the Molly Keane Creative Writing Award and RTÉ Short Story Competition finalist, brings us Assembling Ailish, described by Donal Ryan as “a beautiful and important novel” and praised by Joseph O’Connor as “gripping and skilful.”
June O’Sullivan, whose writing has appeared in The Ogham Stone and The Storms Journal, debuts with The Lighthouse Keeper’s Wife—a poignant and atmospheric tale of heartbreak and resilience that Fiona Scarlett calls “a truly beautiful piece of storytelling.”
