Sly Violet is a Canadian indie folk singer/songwriter based in Salmo, British Columbia. Her music blends modern folk, rock, and pop influences. Featuring heartfelt lyrics, toe-tapping guitar rhythms, and captivating harmonica solos. She’s performed extensively across Canada, gaining a strong following with her engaging and entertaining live shows.
Notably, Feel Your Way Out earned the Best Folk award at the Barrie New Music Awards and a nomination for Best Folk/Roots at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Violet’s musical talent was further recognized when she became a Top 100 finalist on the Canadian Idol TV show.
In recent years, Sly Violet has continued to create and perform. In 2020 she produced a YouTube series titled 'Forest Songs,' with 10 music videos filmed in epic scenic locations throughout the Kootenays, Vancouver Island, and Banff National Park.
Additionally, Sly Violet's song 'Dark November' was featured in the snowboarding film ‘NOTHING,’ filmed in Japan and Mount Baker, Washington in association with Level 1, 686, and Rossignol, highlighting their ongoing involvement in both the music and outdoor community.
