Contemporary Theatre Research Lab Inc. gleefully presents “UBU: Number Two!”, the sequel to 2020’s surreal accuses “King Ubu”.
The disgusting tyrant Pa Ubu invaded the home of a Paris intellectual with his despicable entourage, and begins to terrorise the city of lights.
Marital mistrust and machinations with his repellent wife, however, disrupt the barely-existent plot, and sycophant goons, paranoid citizens, uncanny imports and odd animals like in to propel the story to dizzying heights of absurdity.
Amidst the madness is an scintillating satire on the misuse of power, collective hysteria and the banality of evil.
CTRL’s artistic director Todd Barty returns as adaptor / director/ Pa Ubu, we invite actors aged 18 - 35 to join us to bring the hysterically bizarre farce to life.
Audition dates: 16th and 18th of September at 7pm (we invite actors to attend both nights if possible, but can accomodate attendance on one night.
